Earthed Fabrics And The Mother Of All Headboards

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me swooning over some stunning Irish Linen from Earthed over the past few weeks on my stories.

When Earthed contacted me late last year to introduce themselves and their first collection, it was love at first sight. However at the time, I didn't have any projects in mind that I could use their fabric for other than cushions. Now they would be pretty special cushions for sure, but I felt that if I was going to do something with their linen, that I wanted to do something, well, a little bigger to really do it justice.

Not so long after, I spotted an über impressive DIY wall to wall, channel tufted headboard that Brady Tolbert (of Emily Henderson fame) had made. I fell in love. It was the headboard of dreams. Then I had a lightbulb moment and realised that my favourite design from the Earthed Upperlands Collection, called Torrent (in the Stone colour way), would be an incredible fabric for such a headboard. And Brady had kindly provided a tutorial, so how hard could it possibly be, right?

Well, as many of you already know, I went for it. I ordered some 25 metres of foam, seven, 3.6m lengths of wood, wadding and many many staples for my staple gun, and

Earthed

kindly provided the stunning fabric.

Now, this post would be way too long to incorporate my version of a tutorial on top of all the images. My tutorial will include my UK based sources for the various components, how I (okay, we) attached it to the wall, and my Laurel and Hardy moment of nearly knocking myself out in the making process (true story), so I'm going to share that in a separate post next week. Meanwhile, if you just can't possibly wait, Brady's original tutorial is right

. Thanks Brady for such a fantastic idea!

Before we delve into the headboard more, I wanted to share some of the other designs from the first Earthed collection...

The Upperlands Collection is inspired by the magnificence of water, and how instrumental it's been to William Clark (the parent company of Earthed) for the last three centuries. I think the prints are phenomenally beautiful, and the water element really comes across. Do go and visit

, and check out the other colour ways and designs. Their second collection launches soon and I can't wait to see it!

I have a LOT of images to show you of the final masterpiece. Am I pleased with it? You bet I am. However, it has triggered a(nother) decorating domino effect and I've now pretty much cleared the room for a major overhaul. I was getting bored of everything, so watch this space for my bedroom plans next week.

Okay, so here's what you've been patiently waiting for - a load of images of my beautiful headboard. Let me know what you think!
