Three New Paint Collections You Need To Know About

It’s most definitely no secret that I LOVE paint. As I’ve bored on about for years, it’s the fastest, cheapest and and most impactful way to transform a space.

Although I admit that I don’t particularly love the actual act of doing the decorating myself as much as I once did, the thrill of the result will never ever get old for me.

I’m currently waiting impatiently for some decisions to be made which will have a big impact on what gets decorated (and how) next in our house - cryptic I know, but it’s too early to say more. But believe me when I say, my mind has gone into overdrive with mental planning, and each of these three new paint launches have truly filled me with even more inspiration and ideas. What I love about these collections, is that they’re all very different, yet all very relevant, which reinforces the idea that you really should just go with what you love in your home, and ignore everything, and everyone else.

LITTLE GREENE SWEET TREATS

Some of you might have seen I went to Wales back in July for a preview of Little Greene’s gorgeous new Sweet Treats collection. These colours really sing to me and I absolutely LOVE them all.

With names ranging from Madeleine, to Ganache and Mochi, the colours are every bit as delicious as they sound. Chocolate Colour is the only pre-existing colour in the collection, and that’s because it’s the perfect darkest brown - don’t mess with perfection right? It’s almost black depending on the light, and is also the colour I painted our super cosy little TV room a few years back and still love it every single day.

If you’re a warm neutrals fan, you will find it really hard to choose!

FARROW & BALL CARTE BLANCHE

Meanwhile Farrow & Ball have launched Carte Blanche in collaboration with American fashion designer Christopher John Rogers. It’s a bit of a departure from the classic Farrow & Ball look (well, perhaps no more than the Kelly Wearstler collab), so forget tasteful taupes, warm greys and a plethora of whites - not really, I will always love them, but forget them for this particular collection - and think saturated hues, with some particularly lovely neutrals to play with too. Inspired by childhood memories of family and food (sensing a theme here?), there are twelve colours including no less than four blues, which are clearly still having a moment. It’s a gorgeous collection, and of course I’m drawn to Roasted Macadamia, but can’t not also love Shallot and Pea Flower Tea among others too!

THE HOXTON X BAUWERK

Last, but most definitely not least, is the just launched collaboration between The Hoxton and Bauwerk, which I was very happy to have put on my radar last week. I’m sure that unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past five years or so, you’ll have come across Bauwerk’s beautiful limewash paint, and this collection, inspired by the aesthetic of four Hoxton neighbourhoods in Berlin, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Barcelona, is a match made in heaven.

I’ve been wanting to use limewash paint somewhere for years, but have never had the right space - I’m hoping this will change in the not too distant future, as I’m still not over it and would love to finally realise my limewashed wall fantasies. Limewash paint can add so much movement, interest, and visual warmth and texture to a blank wall, and can even be waxed for a more durable finish. I’m guessing you can then achieve a slightly satin finish which I really love the idea of as it would be reminiscent of Venetian plaster. Oh the possibilities!
